At The Tolpuddle Café, being part of the community goes beyond what happens inside the café.
Recently, we had the opportunity to support the incredible team at
Chalk Farm Foodbank, located at Bus Works on North Road, by donating food directly to their crew.
These are the people working tirelessly every day to support others, and we’re truly grateful to play even a small part in that effort.
If you would like to contribute, you can also donate directly here:

Back at the café, something equally meaningful continues to grow.
Thanks to the generosity of our customers, we currently have 43 active suspended donations.
That’s 43 small but powerful acts of kindness.
43 moments of someone choosing to think of someone else.
It’s something we’re incredibly proud of — not because of us, but because of the community around us.
Our Suspended Bread initiative is built on a simple idea.
When visiting the café, customers can choose to add an extra coffee and Turkish bagel to their order — for someone who might need it later.
That item stays “suspended” until it’s needed.
No questions asked. Just quiet, thoughtful generosity.
Located beside Caledonian Park, The Tolpuddle Café has always been more than just a place to eat and drink.
It’s where neighbours meet, friends catch up, families gather — and where small acts of kindness happen every day without much noise.
If you’re visiting us and would like to take part, you can always add a suspended item to your order.
It may feel like a small gesture —
but together, they become something much bigger.
