What is Wassail?

Wassail is a centuries-old tradition where communities come together to honor the apple trees that provide the fruit for cider. With a mix of singing, drumming, and making lots of noise, the orchard is “awakened” from its winter slumber. This lively custom helps to chase away bad spirits and bring good fortune to the trees, ensuring a fruitful harvest.

What to Expect:

  • Orchard Blessing Ceremony: Participate in the ritual of singing and drumming to awaken the trees. Bring your own drum or noisemaker, or just your enthusiasm!
